Nomophobia
The term (which I promise is real, despite seeming a little forced) “nomophobia” is a somewhat cumbersome acronym for “no mobile (phone) phobia,” referring to the anxiety some people experience when separated from their smartphone.
At times this term refers to one’s actual separation from their phone, in other cases it refers to the fear associated with the mere possibility of not having a functional phone: maybe your phone will be stolen, maybe you’ll drop it and it will break, maybe the battery will go dead.
