Microstressors
In psychology, a stressor is a variable—an experience, an event, an environmental stimulus—that induces stress. These stressors trigger biological responses in us that put us into alert, alarmed, and worried states that are meant to help us cope with danger, but which come with negative trade-offs ranging from heart disease to anxiety to chronic conditions like PTSD if they last long enough or are induced frequently enough.
