A recent study found that improving the quality of a students’ high school plays a significant role in their eventual labor market outcomes, and this seems to be especially true for students from low-income families.

So if your high school is well-run, you have a better chance of earning more money when you graduate and get a job. And this impact is even more potent if you don’t come from a wealthy family, presumably because that kind of latent wealth can give children a leg-up, even if their educational experience is less than ideal.
