Godwin's Law

In the relatively early days of the internet, the American attorney and author Mike Godwin articulated an adage that has since become know as Godwin's Law.

This adage states, in essence, that as an online discussion grows in scope, scale, and duration, the more likely it becomes that a comparison to Hitler or Nazis will be made in that discussion.
