Modern research has assured us that exercise is the closest thing we have to a panacea when it comes to health, feeling good, thinking clearly, and aging well.

Aerobic exercise in particular seems to offer just a silly number of benefits, and though different experts recommend different types and cadences and intensities for achieving the optimal level of benefits, it seems like a safe bet (knowing what we know right now, at least) to think of a regular dose of cardiovascular exercise, alongside other types of resistance- and lifting-things-oriented efforts, as a baseline health-improving activity for those who want to stay generally fit and well throughout their lives, both psychologically and physiologically.
