Clerical Errors
There's an ongoing crisis of confidence roiling many research-oriented fields right now, including the worlds of psychology and sociology, but also (to a somewhat lesser degree) "harder" sciences like medicine and physics.
This crisis is tied to a failure by many such fields to sufficiently invest in (and confirm) replication trials, which basically means having other teams re-do research to see if they get the same results as the original publishers of a paper.
